Is .Net stack too old for the job market ?

I work on .Net 4.6.1 deployed to Azure and using SQL server. Is this a really outdated stack for a SWE to work on ?

.NET 5 is very impressive. C# is fantastic. The problem with the stack is not the technology, it’s the companies using it. 4.6.1 is quite old. Present the performance gains of migrating to .NET 5 as a cost savings to upper management. Take on the project. Complete it. Get a promotion and move to FAANG.

.NET stack is great. Hard to find high paying work with it.

You should be fine. Everyone now is moving towards.net core. Just know the differences between the two,. rest should be the same. Experts correct me. Also, learn nosql and compare and learn the underlying concepts in azure and how they map to other clouds. You should be fine

The issue with.net is that enterprise use .net but enterprise don’t pay as much as fang. You can easily get the 100k to 150k job with.net
