What happens when most of your team is Indian?
Among all recently ipo'd companies only Pinterest seems to be doing well. Things are pretty positive in terms of layoff sentiment inside the company.
I think this unicorn cycle established that companies need to have high profit margins to justify paying silicon valley salaries. For eg Pinterest/Snap are surviving because of high margins ads buisness which leads to low infra costs. Even with Amazon it became a FAANG only because of AWS not because of retail.
Wait for your earnings. You are yet to see the bottom
Pinterest already released early guidance I thought?
Doesn't matter. You shall see the real bottom.
Any word on when Pinterest will stop hiring freeze?
I believe we are still hiring for backfills.
Pinterest isn’t on a freeze; just a reduction of open roles. Careers site is updated w roles that are still actively recruiting
Snap is doing well too
Slack is the winner through all of this
How is it doing well when it’s stock is down almost 50%? For comparison that is more than Uber 😬
Its not 50% down from ipo price. Ipo price was 19 afaik.
IPO price was 26
Qq...sorry how does Pinterest make money again? Not a rhetorical question

Ohhh
Zoom’s doing well
Zoom’s lofty price is bound to tank. Though it is still far better then Uber/Lyft
