Is Principal Engineering role challenging enough?

Long story short, after several trails, i finally could get out of Amex and I joined a tech company in the bay area as Principal Engineer. I now lead the technical design and delivery for 5 teams across the globe but the work almost feels redundant and unamusing due to the stagnant/monolith architecture. I'd like to know more about some of those most challenging problems the fellow Principal Engineers solved at their companies and what are they most proud of?
