Is Quora even profitable ?

I was a heavy Quora user a few years ago when it was where all the intellectuals hung out. These days the hype around Quora seems to have disappeared. The website still seems to exist and still seems to get a lot of traffic. My question is from a financial sustainability point of view. Is it even profitable ? There seems to be no known effort for an IPO. Are they waiting to be acquired ? They have started running ads on Quora but I'm not sure how much money they are generating from them. What is their long term plan here for financial sustainability ? #tech #quora

The cringe there is unbelievable. First came the liars from the US who would make up any tale for upvotes. Then came the pretentious Indians. I heard that IIT is series of great institutes in India. However the fuck the students from those have so much time to answer defies me. Anyway I left after a while. Some stuff is better than some forums in Reddit (read: r/relationships; every advice there is 'I know what you are going through. Break up'). But then for technical stuff stackexchange takes the cake.

Ah yes, Leonard Kim is the best example. Dude would make sob stories for upvotes and then follow anyone who upvoted his crap. Then one day once he gathered thousands of followers, he unfollowed thousands of people in one stroke. It was like he had 20,000+ followers and he went from following 20,000+ people to some 60 odd well known quorans. What a POS! 2012-2014 Quora was a very different place due to some of the western nation Quorans being total drama queens. Then Indians joined en-masse and things changed. I just stick there for some great C++ folks like Sergey Zubkov, David Vandervoode and Joe Zbiciak. Otherwise that place is not worth spending time on, SE and Reddit run circles around it.

The whole concept of follow & be followed is fundamentally flawed. It makes no sense. People just do it out of habit. It's just fueling the human need for a connection. But almost all these connections are superficial.
