Checked ServiceNow’s Wikipedia page just now, it shows it acquired 21 companies in the last 10 years. Does it grow through acquisitions like Salesforce? What are their main products/services? (Salesforce acquired a lot of companies too, such as Mulesoft, Tableau, Slack, which are dying now. Also AI first is the slogan now.) #servicenow #salesforce
ServiceNow is a better sales force not weighed down by debt and sub par acquisitions
Now does not acquire big companies but rather much smaller to strategically get into a segment where they are not in which help them sell the now platform capabilities instead of separate product. Now platform is the moat here.
^ is correct. We acquire much smaller companies which are quite unheard of and not for their revenue stream but the value add they bring to the now platform.
@cowabungaa what makes NOW better. Every customer I have seen using snow have the older interface which looks terrible! I am curious what snow has over apex/lightning? Does it scale better, easier to customize, cheaper to maintain?
Heard that ServiceNow immediately refactors acquired companies’ tech onto The Platform, so it’s truly a one-cloud solution. Salesforce acquires companies and then Marketing creates slides that suggests one-cloud.
When salesforce was smaller, we always integrated into one cloud(Sales, Service, Analytics, Communities. But then marketing cloud came along and it was not possible because marketing revenue is based on consumption. Then tableau and mulesoft came along and they were not even in the cloud at all. I would bet servicenow is too small to right now to have this problem, but I would love to be proven wrong. Getting 100k employees to send millions of emails a day to billions of people whilst making everything visible via real time reporting and also nicely flowing into analytics and out to other systems via api calls is a hard problem to solve, and it only starts when you have large enough customers to need a sensible solution to partitioning(ala CAP theorom)
No, ServiceNow is not small at all. Please do some research before drop your comment. Salesforce lacks strategic move resulting separated systems, and you guys definitely need more layoff to handle this situation. Good luck!
@cfghsn Does snow really support the same transaction volume? I am not trying to be disrespectful, but we send 4+ billion emails a day, 6+ billion cases a day, and 3 billion slack interactions. https://www.salesforce.com/news/stories/salesforce-company-facts/?bc=OTH
Salesforce pays better so..it's a smaller Salesforce as of now but growing.
No, ServiceNow pays more than Salesforce recently.
I had both the offers.. sn pays more
I bet that servicenow probably has better motivations for it’s acquisitions than Marc benioff’s infantile ego
