Is Tesla a good career move for SWE
Hi guys, Just was curious to hear your thoughts on joining Tesla as a backend dev at this point vs FANG vs other growing big tech company (like mongo). I’ve looked around and seen some negativity but was curious to see more data. Assume comparable pay across the offers. As an swe, unless you are working for their self driving projects, you would actually be a cost function right?. Don't go to a company where you are a cost function, go where you are a revenue multiplier. Hence, FANG.
How can anyone assume that the pay is comparable when everyone knows that it's not?
I thought Tesla paid way less than Microsoft? Am I wrong?
I actually did ask if levels.fyi ranges are for real, they said they are trying to actually compete with the market now
