Is Tinder enough?

I find tinder highly inefficient. Hookups are good, but for long term dating you wanna be sure about financial aspect too. It's not about being douchebag to people with high loans and bad credit, but being pragmatic. What do you feel about finding the right person with personality and financial fit?

Credit karma 😂

Credit Karma green_sky OP Apr 26, 2019

Gotta care about the financial life bro! Finance is super important. Also, make sure you work forward towards your credit score if you don't have a good one, and check for free on Credit Karma 😅

I heard credit karma had a hackathon that allow tinder swiping based on similiar credit score 😏

What’s the other option exactly? Scraping the internet for startup founders or something?

Tektronix BazzokaGrl Apr 26, 2019

I've heard Hinge is good but haven't tried it. There are a lot of tailored dating sites out there for specific groups of people, isn't there one for farmers?

Credit Karma green_sky OP Apr 26, 2019

Really, didn't know. Tinder was huge in my college

Tektronix BazzokaGrl Apr 26, 2019

They have a lot of specialized sites now, https://www.buzzfeed.com/patricksmith/21-bizarre-dating-sites-that-prove-there-is-someone-for-ever

I find bizarre that you care about loans but not to the person's tc/job. Loans are drop in the bucket unless the person has a house with a mortgage

Credit Karma green_sky OP Apr 26, 2019

Good point

Microsoft Brazuka Apr 26, 2019

Another aspect I would consider is the person's spending behaviour vs their means. Don't marry people that spend lavishly.

Microsoft shambu Apr 26, 2019

That's what we Indians solved with shaadi.com. no way to register without putting your job and salary 😂

Microsoft Brazuka Apr 27, 2019

Wow, that's some weird shit. Read a couple stories and they were all arranged marriages or marriages after couple weeks of knowing each other.

Interesting- I have thought about specifically looking for an arrangement if any families are accepting of a successful stable business woman with kids and a prior divorce. Or will I get shunned for even trying?

Try secret benefits.

Amazon Meh meh Apr 26, 2019

Would you feel bad if you were dating someone who earns a few times more than you? If you earn a decent amount, why would you be concerned unless your SO owes like a couple of hundreds of thousands of dollars? Isn’t longer term dating abt accepting each other for your strengths and weaknesses?

Microsoft shambu Apr 26, 2019

Isn't making lot of money a strength? 😏

eBay tc chaser Apr 26, 2019

Bumble, okcupid, others? You’ll notice the same people are on each app, often

Credit Karma green_sky OP Apr 26, 2019

How do you know financial compatibility

eBay tc chaser Apr 28, 2019

I think you focus on the trees and are missing the forest

PayPal qeJe Apr 26, 2019

You want someone whom you are happy to be near them. Someone you can have good conversations with. Some one you can solve problems/disagreements *together*. If you have thise things, you can work out a common financial life no problem. If you don't you can be so similar and still argue miserably about the differences that remain.
