Women, help me understand why this is inspirational
US is losing to China in AI and supercomputers race. So in an overtly anticompetitive move, they placed sanctions on tech export to China that includes: - chips fabbed outside the US - No 5-year old NVIDIA V100 - Extended SME ban: anything below 16nm - Not more than 600GB/s of bandwidth for ICs. At the same time, FTC is suing Meta from buying VR startups and blocking us from growing through acquisitions. Meanwhile, Adobe acquiring Figma and monopolizing the whole market goes unchecked. Why the hypocrisy on Meta? Edit: I'm neither American or Chinese. I'm a neutral observer curious about this hypocrisy. So it'd be nice if you can address the topic rather than use ad hominem.
Elections.
Elect and regret
It's better that the number one social media platform, cloud platform and search platform is American vs the CCP
Why though? For non-Americans, American companies are stealing their data and so are Chinese companies. CCP is evil, but US government has committed more wars, atrocities on foreign lands and killed more innocent on foreign soil. Why should American tech company's survellism br chosen by a neutral country?
Because America does it to sell you products. China does it to assign you a social score that affects every area of your life (what job you can get, what loans you can get, etc)
Biden is shorting meta. Cope.
That username 💪 I’ve seen a few Dune references at Apple, too
Meta mates are so jealous and full of ego. Answer to your question: its call politics!
CCP on Blind 👋 and🖕🏽
I guess you could find consistency in the fact that the current U.S. gov't isn't super jazzed about supporting anti-democratic institutions.
What about Saudi Arabia?
Saudi Arabia isn't friends with the US, and even less so after the OPEC decision. Sometimes anti-democratic countries are required allies, but that doesn't mean we have to like them. And unnecessary tyrants can be removed (see: Russia, Iran, right now).
So you’re saying— meta should be allowed to do whatever it wants, because us is competing hard with China?
Absolutely
> 'us is competing hard with China" Cute how you still see this is a normal competing tactic.
The government is a mix of many different departments that don't talk or coordinate or communicate in any way. A person can be a hypocrite since it's the same body making the decision. The US government is very large and thus very disconnected. Each department is making a decision without regard for other decisions. No hypocrisy here :) Is it fair? Probably not.
United States of Hypocrisy
That's why China number 1
Number 1 in producing crappy goods 😀
So true
