I am a career transitioner from consulting/bizops and wonder if entering Dell/Cisco/IBM as PM would be a good stepping stone in PM. However, these companies’ fast growth stage has passed. #pm #product #dell #ibm #cisco
Cisco - kind of a meh company to work at but great exit opps to be a PM at other cybersecurity, networking, infra, or appliance companies
I wanna do consumer-tech later though but it is very hard to directly break into.
There are outbound PM openings
Exit options are not great for PMs at these companies. If possible, look for more product-led companies.

I suggest you try those companies after the lean period.
I agree Cisco is the perfect Mehhh company..not so great but no so bad 😂 .Great place to start as PM .

Why is it so G*damn difficult to move money out of India
Not a good stepping stone but will open some doors. The best among 3 is cisco
For career transitioner without engineering/pm background, pm is very hard. Business PM is driven by sales/client so sometimes a little bit flexible of taking business people in. Thanks so much for your reply.
