For career growth which is better company goldman sachs (base 110k) salt lake city or fidelity (base 100k) dallas Please also give reason . I have offer from both company and need to decide. Wlb? Growth opportunity?
Both bad. But Sachs ia better by a mile
Would take Amazon over either. Bank IT is bad, even within the company it's called cost center/back office. With so many tech companies why would you even go there?
I used to work at GS and would highly recommend it for honing your soft skills. I went in not even realizing I needed more work on that, and it's also one of those skills where you really need to witness others doing it well versus learning it in some training course. GS also has a great culture of mentorship that's been honed for decades. If you're competent, you will find people reaching out to support your career development without you even asking for it. Many people leave GS to go to places like Google, so it's a solid employer to have on your resume. Also if you want to pursue roles in fintech, you'll get reached out to left & right. That said, there's an unspoken hierarchy with the offices and SLC unfortunately does get treated like a 2nd class citizen, so you will want to keep that in mind as well.
