I saw that they laid off 30% and 7% in seperate waves but are still hiring. Whats the deal?
Do you still work there? I’m also thinking about joining.. will the company still be around a year from now? Or will they sell it to somebody? 🤔
Hootsuite is a profitable business so it will still be around in a year. It’s unlikely that we will IPO any time soon and probable that the company will be sold to an investment fund
What do you think the likelihood of a further layoff this year is? I got laid off once and really dont wanna a join a new company to get laid off again
I’m not senior enough to know for sure but if there’s a further layoff I think it’s unlikely to affect people who have joined recently. It’s really hard to get the approval to hire anyone at the moment so the position you’re interviewing for must be very much needed
New CEO is the layoff queen. Was at CareerBuilder while she was there and no joke, we had 6 layoffs. She’s known as the worst CEO in the business. I’d avoid this company.
The tech is old now. It's strongest cards were Twitter and Facebook. For a social media player it needs to be stronger on Instagram, LinkedIn and TicToc. Oftentimes it's impossible to develop for these tools because there in nothing in their API So clients don't get the point of paying for something that isn't as good as going native. It's not an essential software for a lot of people these days
Will this company ever have any type of exit? Hoping my options aren’t meaningless
