There has been a lot of discussion around US companies off-shoring talent acquisition, especially in India. Some say the companies are lowering their expense but at the cost of hiring lower talent, some say the talent quality remains the same or even better sometimes. India does have very reputable tech training pipeline like IIT. So I’d like to ask the actual hiring managers / recruiters. Is Indian talent on par or better than the US’d talent?
There are certainly high quality engineers and low quality engineers in India, just as there are in the US. Hard to say where the medians lie since I don’t work in recruiting. One thing is probably certain: there are more bad engineers in India than in the US, since the population is about 4x larger lol. Pretty sure many of the best engineers immigrate to the US anyway, for the pay presumably, so probably by virtue of that India does not have better engineers on average.
Brain dead cope answer as always. There are more indians but the ratio of good:bad is much lower there
Indians are the majorities in CEO, leaderships, management, and other positions. We essentially control companies like Google and Microsoft. It’s only time we will control everything’s
lol, “we essentially control”. Sure thing, raj. You and Satya are in the same “club.” Say “hi” next time you guys chat, oh wait, he doesn’t even know you exist and would never talk to you.
lol Meta, once Zuck retires he will hire an Indian CEO to replace him, and you will see all your teammates getting replaced by Indian one by one
Easy to replace jobs will continue to be offshored to cheaper places like India. Core R & D jobs and niche skills will continue to be in the US
they are not even in the same league. India is “cobblestone” tier and the US is “platinum”
Pure technological throughput wise , India is at par or better . Ability to see big picture , problem solve , innovate , work together and collaborate , Indian talent has some ways to go .
After they leave the country ? Yes
Comes from which universities are better. Simple, right
Engineers in India are average at best because the great ones would all rather come to US instead of slaving away in Chennai. And obviously, their brightest students all leave long before they even had a job in India and never return.
Indian corporate culture can reduce your lifespan. 0 EQ. Those who do not want toxicity move out.
US >>>>>> India. Too many frauds in India. US > China >>>>>>> India China could be > US, but CCP doesn't trust tech enough, so a lot of smart mainland Chinese work in the US.
If china is so good why do they need 996 for trash like temu
996 is for societal ordering and control. China is a country where those in power owns not just normal people's wealth, but also life. This is what those in power treat the normal walks. The workspace climate now is not as demanding as before though after they have to ensure people have more time for family bonding and giving birth to more children. What I meant is that 90% of Indian engineers suck and 70% are just simply fraudsters. They take away opportunities from everyone, including those smart Indians who have to leave US due to visa. Thus, collectively, US >>>>>> India.
