Is it possible to circumvent an account ban by Reddit?
Some Quora threads on this and the consensus is that it's not impossible. They track IP address and probably device ID too. I figured the MAGA+ SWE crowd on Blind might know something the Quora crowd doesn't. I was banned bc I was banned by the mods of a subreddit and made a new account to circumvent the subreddit ban, not knowing that's against ToS.
Device ID ban can easily be bypassed by resetting your phone.
Sure, but you don’t get banned for being banned from a subreddit. You get banned for repeated violations or doing something really egregious. You can also appeal your ban if you really think it was a mistake. Circumventing a ban is pretty shitty and easy to find
There’s nothing to appeal, I broke the tos by evading suspension but it’s not like I doxxed someone or cussed out a group or denied the holocaust.

Apple did away with device ids. I would try this: 1. Uninstall then reinstall the app completely to wipe all caches and get a fresh install. Never try to login to the old account again. 2. Change your IP address before you make any network requests with the app (just don't open app until you change the IP). VPN, reset modem, use a different internet connection, etc. 3.
