Got offer from FANG and planning to leave soon, however worried that market situation is getting worse by the day and might affect employment in new job. Is it better to stay at existing smaller company or at FANG. Does google lay off people during recession ?
You are much better off with two of the highest market cap companies that your current company. They have plenty of cash. Sure layoffs could hit but if fb/goog feel the heat chances are your company feel it 10x worse
Yeah if Google ever had to lay off due to the "economy" we'd all be screwed
Big n is the safe zone for job security bro the worse the market gets the more you'd wanna be there
how is this a question. ofc you’ll be in a much better spot at F/G plus if it doesn’t hit right away you’ll be able to stockpile much more cash
Facebook is free, google is free, Netflix is really cheap, Amazon is cheap, Apple is expensive.
What are you trying to suggest?
I'd like to know, too
A big NO. Fwiw, Akmai technologies sounds more stable than any of the FANG companies. Run away.
You dropped the /s there
I don't understand the question, if you're worried about recession, you will be safer at Google or Facebook. In general there is hiring freeze, but layoffs not so much, if it happens, I guarantee you that most of the industry will be screwed...
Both google and fb are high margin businesses. I’d argue that they have so much cash that they can stomach a recession much more easily than a smaller company with thinner margins. Layoffs can happen anywhere, not specific to google or fb
