https://thehustle.co/02032022-youtube-netflix/ Google acquired YouTube for $1.65B in 2006, but didn’t break out earnings for the streaming service until 2020. For the latest quarter, YouTube ads brought in $8.6B. Here’s the wild part: That’s an annualized run rate of $34B, which outpaced Netflix — a $30B run rate — for the 1st time. With a mostly ad-based business, YouTube is usually left out of the streaming subscription wars conversation… … but it’s clearly the video leader As one point of comparison, a study of Android users found that in 2020 the average monthly time spent on YouTube was 23 hours (vs. ~6 hours for Netflix). Meanwhile, YouTube itself has more active users (2.3B) than any social site other than Zuck Daddy’s Facebook (2.7B). And while we’re at it, here’s another wild stat: YouTube is the 2nd biggest search engine in the world (you can guess the first).
Unless they come with better content and lower price point to attract more customers in developing countries..
Yeah, forcing woke content on a society which is not ready is not good businesswise
So what you’re saying is to work for Google?

The guy that PIP-ed his wife doesn’t have to think twice before PIPing every minion in his company. He is probably borderline socio, and he is keeping an investment banking culture into an engineering one. The point of IBs is that you do it for few years when you are young, get overworked to death and eventually quit and go and get an MBA. Burn and churn. You are not supposed to survive more than 3 years. The few that survive after 5 years usually start making more money and become the abusers of the next class. That culture is what Jeff (an investment banker at his early career), brought to Amazon. It is not a culture for Middle Aged people with family and visas and more and the money is not worth it. So, people put up with it for a while until they find a better place. If it wasn’t for H1Bs, Amazon would have burned and churned already all the US born engineers. Frankly, it is the H1B visa that allows that rathole to survive while having that awe full culture. Mandatory PIP ratios should be illegal.
True. YouTube and YouTube storts are competing very well with Netflix and tiktok. One of the main reasons why youTube has the most user attention. They also are shipping 2-3 ads in a 10 minute video. Pandemic has made everyone see YouTube more than ever. And google can buy itself out of any scrutiny unlike meta. It's pretty much a deep state company now.
How can you compare 🍎 to 🍊
YouTube pushes ads load to the limit I think. Also they tap out the user base. Netflix has much more room to grow.
