Seattle honestly has pretty great weather in the Spring/Summer
Yeah too bad it only lasts about 2-3 months.
Seattle is one depressing city... I have been there so many times and every time I go I try my best to convince myself that this is okay to live here but no not really the reality is there's not much going on in the city... downtown is super small there's not much going in Bellevue either.
This took me years to realize, but Seattle is definitely not for everyone. If you like having fun in the 🌞, you will be sad.
How was your experience what did you learn after years of living there?
I just made this move within the last year. Cost of living is actually very similar. You'll spend a bit more on housing/rent but it's made up for by the lack of income tax. Sales tax is 10% instead of 8% I got a 50% increase in TC and so far its been worth it. I plan to stay a few years to build net worth but eventually move back to SD
+1 Made a similar move. Rent is similar to San Diego. You'll make a lot more money. Contrary to what another guy said, if you like the outdoors you will like Seattle. Winter hiking is awesome since there are less people on trails. There are plenty of scenic trails compared to the bald ones in SD.
DO NOT MOVE FROM SD, YOU WILL REGRET IT!!
Seattle weather sucks big time. great for 4 months, gloomy for the rest. avoid at all cost.
Couldn’t agree more.
I live in Seattle, it’s depressing here (I moved here from Texas). Don’t move would be my recommendation. Yes I agree the summer is beautiful but it’s very short lived. Traffic sucks, people aren’t friendly, cost of living isn’t too far off from CA.
Seattle is awesome. Summers are amazing and in winters your ski. It's the best place to live in the east coast. Living in a no name city like San Diego compared to Seattle? No brainer. It's like comparing Minnesota and New York.
This
San Diego is at least as recognizable as Seattle (https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?geo=US&q=%2Fm%2F0d9jr,%2Fm%2F071vr) plus we have nicer people, far better weather year round and the overall culture is generally better too (though that is all pretty subjective). I like visiting Seattle, but could never live there. San Diego also has twice the population, but with less density than Seattle, and our tech scene is on the upswing while Seattle is pretty much saturated. That’s why more SV and Seattle companies are opening large offices here.
If you are an outdoor type, I don't think you should come to Seattle. But if you just want to enjoy outdoor activities from time to time and have indoor activities to do, then it would be perfect for you. There are a lot of hiking trails nearby and also ski resorts. Summer though short-lived, it's very nice and not too hot.
What? You contradict yourself.
I meant whenever the weather is good you can be sure there are nice places to enjoy outdoor activities.
Funny how Blind hates the weather of any place the further it is from that of Mumbai. True coincidence, I'm sure.

Stay in San Diego. Enjoy the low cost and the sun and the beautiful beaches. The only price you pay is slightly lower TC (but not that much when accounting for COL)
San Diego has low COL? 😂
Low cost loooooool
