Is java and JavaScript knowledge enough to get into Google?

...besides being good at leetcoding Or do you also need to know C/C++?

Definitely enough for most positions They just quiz you on data structures and algorithms. So... Would focus 99% of the time on leetcode

Just curious how will the new employee who knows only JavaScript cope when assigned to team working on projects using Ruby, C++ or C. Won’t the employee feel it difficult to come up to speed and be placed on PIP in failing to contribute?

They'll expect you to learn in 2 weeks. Have to be a quick learner to work at G or other big tech companies.

If you are only an expert in one language, you will be put on a team that uses that language. However, generalists at Google are expected to be able to pick up any language relatively quickly. If you only know one language, I would strongly suspect you'd struggle with picking up more.

Java and JS should stand you in good stead. Lots of Google engineers don’t know C++. If you consider yourself a frontend specialist, let your recruiter know. There’s a slightly different rubric for such candidates.

Even if you know C++, Google has its own standard of doing things.
