Is moving to M&A IB in NY from Toronto for 1 year worth it?
Have an offer to move from Toronto IB to an M&A group in a Tier 2/3 bank in NY as an Associate. Only would do it for 1-1.5 years. Is it possible to experience NY in that time and while in IB or is it not worthwhile? Also, is living in NY as a banker overrated? #nyc #m&a #ib #toronto

NetDebt Jun 9, 2021Like anything it depends on the name/quality of the firm you are coming from and planning on going to. If you ever plan on going back to Toronto I imagine Canadians would look highly upon “NYC experience”
Is it LMM to MM? Is there upward progression? Does the bank in NY have better deal flow?
