I'm jotting this down after checking out an article on Twitter's server setup. So, in December 2022, Elon Musk got all worked up due to some lease trouble with X (formerly Twitter) and just out of the blue, decided to relocate thousands of servers from Sacramento to Portland in just a few days, even though it was a total logistical and security nightmare. Musk, known for his bold and no-nonsense style, gathered a bunch of unconventional folks and went against the experts who warned against such a rushed move. They chucked servers onto trucks without any proper protection, causing a real mess for X's operations. They even hired some movers from Yelp without IDs to handle Twitter's server racks. I mean, this is just insane, right? I think it's because Elon is the richest person on the planet, many leaders in various organizations are trying to copy his style. It's like this "I don't care about the nitty-gritty details, complexity, or feasibility; just get it done by tomorrow" kind of attitude. Everything's a heroic effort, and there's no strategic thinking involved... crazy stuff! Even though not related to servers, other tech companies humiliatingly began laying off people who had dedicated many years to their work, seemingly taking a page from Elon's book. This trend even extended to companies like Google, which you wouldn't expect. While I get that addressing staff bloat can be a concern, shouldn't they find a way to do it with more dignity https://www.cnbc.com/2023/09/11/elon-musk-moved-twitter-servers-himself-in-the-night-new-biography-details-his-maniacal-sense-of-urgency.html?utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&fbclid=IwAR3MfX_pcck_QhiBSuQzCUZtQ9YJUx4E-iUYqM8Fifs7E1GQZELC_ChmABI #Elon musk #tech #twitter #meltdown #servers
Yes on track for huge success, they might even hit their 2022 valuation in the next decade!! Simply stunning.
Read the whole article about the move . Elon later admitted that it was a mistake when Twitter started having outages . Also the manner in which it was moved was extremely risky and foolish . The dude has a ton of money to pay fines or whatnot if things went south . Imagine a publicly owned company doing this and user data on the servers get leaked hacked , would you take that chance ?
Analysis is paralysis
Those who say "Analysis paralysis" are not usually the one's doing the actual work and getting blamed when things go south.
One success doesn’t a pattern make. I’d like to see the same thing being executed in the same way 1000 times and then see how often it succeeds vs fails.
We’re over him. We’re over maniacal people with personality disorders. We’re tired of the spectacle. We’re not voting for trump. We don’t care what spasm of the day Elon is having. Goodbye
Oh yeah as if Biden is really doing great with inflation. Trumponomics set America on success path unless we all got f**ked cosmically by COVID-19. Socialism has always failed historically and so will US of A if it continues with Bidenomics.
Then vote for Pence, he was in the WH with Trump
Firing dead weight has always been good for business. Look up what private equity does when they take over companies. Of course no one likes it except the people making money.
"just get it done" douchebags have always existed, they used to hide it better just like Muskrat used to, nowadays they are getting bolder, it might be time to pull a Hollywood style strike out on their asses to put them back in their place
yeah
What hiding? Did you even read except?? Musk literally cancelled his trip mid-flight to go to the server farm, where he physically unplugged servers with his own hands. I can understand the frustration of a boss hearing excuses from "experts" about how a move needs 9 months, when he and a handful of buddies were able to move the first truckload in a few days
Just don't work for dunces like this
I think you need to understand there are two class ,one is executive class and others is worker class. If you belong to later class then there is no dignity, get over it.
Only owner can do this, because it's ultimately his money on the line. If a manager took upon themselves to move servers like that, causing the disruption it did, Elon himself would fire them.
This is like Amazon but a single owner version. Imagine an army of managers like this all over the place ,that's amazon X is 0.001% Amazon at this point.
Scared to work in Amazon if what you say is true
The clown king. Pop some more designer drugs and decide what fun way you will torment the peasants today Mr Musk.
