My boyfriend is a PhD student looking for a job in Seattle. What he does everyday matches the oculus research job description exactly but he is not getting any responses. Is oculus really hiring? Anyone can give a referral?
Yes they are hiring. They are looking for experts in computer vision and C++/cuda. They are serious about the C++ and not python part.
Within CV, lots of focus on SLAM, 3D reconstruction, tracking, anything related to AR/VR, deep learning (well everyone is doing this), etc. This is based on recruiters feedback.
Hiring a lot; the recruiter I am in touch with is pushing me to interview at the earliest though I will probably interview around March-April timeframe
Hiring lots
A slightly unrelated question: is Oculus Research primarily/only in Seattle? The recruiter told me that in Bay Area (Menlo Park), there are only product teams. If I am interested in Oculus Research (in case, I get an offer), I have to move to Seattle/Redmond.
Only in Redmond
Wow thanks for the info. I guess I should specify which area he's focusing on. The positions he applied are all optics related. Anyone knows about those specifically?
Is he graduating or looking to intern? I’m pretty sure they have both though
Any inputs on this one?
