My room mate who works in a FAANG has never paid for food and brings food in togo boxes even for weekends which according to me is still acceptable. If some company is giving such perks why not use it. Recently I've started noticing that he's stealing milk, fruits, coffee mugs, sugar etc from the office pantry which seems weird. I'm wondering what is the line. Are we not paid enough as an engineer to full fill our daily needs. Is it still ethical to even do so. I'm not able to understand this behavior. TC: 380k
Yes , I have seen a lot of H1B holders from a specific state do these sort of things. Brings shame to the entire country. SAD!!!
Taking the food is normal, milk and fruits included. Alternative is the excess gets thrown out. The mugs though...
Anything edible is fair game.
Dafuq 😂😂😂😂
380k TC and living with roommate. Also, at what YOE VMware pay 380k. It's not usual salary for VMware
“Roommate” is the wife
Ok a suggestion for you, after every thing you do after this in your life think little bit more or may be think twice. Did it address the question. Is it possible that ,someone already changed the job and still uses blind from their earlier id. Do you understand stock appreciation.
Roommate is probably lazy. Does I not want to cook or go grocery shopping. I can relate but my family is too big to steal enough for everyone...
You stop thinking about it, eventually he will pay back. He will pay back in terms of health care expenditure after couple of decades, no mater how healthy the pantry pretend to be, pantry vendor is making that food for better profit margin than for the health. Don’t read this as some revenge, but this is what happens when one eat out more and regularly than the healthy meal at home.
yikes. i think i was just "pay back" reading this.
Lmao schizo post found
That is food given to employees, who takes first gets it. Most of those are shlt so I rarely take them.
1. He has a room mate, working at FAANG. This is already weird. You also weird, cuz you live with roommate making 380k. 2. I have the same dude in my team, he packs a whole backpack of snack every time he is in the office. Mexican, it’s normal for him. Grew up in poverty. 3. It’s not ok. It’s a red flag for me personally, about the values and principles of this person. Never deal with such folks.
And the irony is “everyone knows this guy behavior”. One guy in my team used to do that and come layoff season he was the only one in org fired
I draw the line at pistachios and macadamia nuts. Taking those is embezzlement
Jerky and pellegrino still ok though right, asking for a friend
you get macadamia nuts? thats impressive.
