Why does Disney+ pay way lower than Netflix for swe?
Obviously Netflix is better. Their apps clearly superior in every aspect
As someone with limited usage of both, in what way is Netflix better
Less bugs, better recommendations, features all feel nicer
Gentlemen .. it’s the content that matters the most. Right now .. Netflix has more itinerary.
For streaming service, quantity matters.
according to me disney have better backend as they have capabilities to host live streaming and host to scale of larger audiences and also their platform uses streaming of channels which is plus to support that you need very strong backend
Wtf are you smoking? You do realize that Netflix has far more subscribers than Disney? Only when you perform some bundling math and add hulu and ESPN to Disney+ do they finally (barely) exceed Netflix numbers. Streaming of channels? What the heck are you even talking about?
My spouse works in Disney streaming. The backend for all the platforms is the same Hulu, Disney+, espn+ so their subscribers are more than Netflix
Disney has like 1/20th the scale of Netflix. Way smaller catalogue and way smaller user base and the tech they do have sucks in comparison.
People usually discount hotstar, which is owned by Disney They backend probably tolerates most spiky transactions
And Hulu (also owned by Disney).
Disney is hella buggy
Open connect alone saves Netflix billions per year. Disney has to rely on 3rd party CDN and still can't match Netflix for performance. Check how fast a video loads, it can't be more obvious. Disney has a higher non-content cost than Netflix despite a much smaller user base
Disney runs on Conviva I think
Same reason they’re enforcing RTO to 4 days a week, boomer company stuck in the 1900s mindset.
Does it make a difference in the end
Yes? Boomer companies that aren’t 100% tech more likely to be micromanagey, enforce in office requirements, and pay below market rate.
