Back on blind for the first time since last winter. Wondering if ya’ll are starting to land interviews/offers this spring. I’m ready to leave Amazon. I’ve been here since I graduated from college and I feel like I’m stuck. How’s the market for someone with 4+ YOE? TC: 275 YOE: 4.5
150 is not a lot
Did you plug youre own company...?
It's worse
It's only going to get worse. Will probably be this way for the next year or two.
Two years ? Omg
I hope it's only for the next two years - that would be less than the few or more years others are predicting due to a different economical environment going forward.
Definitely less openings with more applicants (lower conversion rate from app to first round) but I would say same level of interviewing difficulty as a year ago.
First of all congratulations 👏🏻🎉 you survived all the storms at Amazon 🤌🏻 I don't know if your manager was good or bad, your work and colleagues were easy or not, etc. Now, about the job market - I think you are in a sweet spot if this is your first company. Now focus on interviewing and negotiation skills
lol I’ve had 6 managers total.
✌🏻🎉
It’s shit for juniors but for 4 YOE, you can at least try your luck and see if you get an offer.
Yes awful for juniours, its 'meh' for mid and it's still pretty ok for senior. For AI folks its hoot!
Wait for more shit to hit the fan with Tesla, Goog and other companies starting another rough round of layoffs. I think you need to wait a bit (probably end of 2024) before you step into the arena, its already crowded.
I think you’re right. I don’t want to put up with all that. May as well just start leetcoding again and take it easy until the market is better
Feel the same way… stuck - 3.5 YOE, been at Amazon since graduation. I don’t feel there is any other place to go to make comparable comp (I am also in Austin, TX so slimmer pickings)
Same level of craziness and rejections everywhere
