Is there a way to look up an LLC?
Is there a way to look up the information of an LLC? Things like the purpose of this LLC, the director, the location, the financials, etc.? I used Google but either doesn’t find anything or not very much. Does anyone know a page where to get that information at less to no costs? Thx
Yes. Look up Better Business Bureau.
If you know what state the LLC is registered in, you can usually go to a state tax/business/comptroller website and pull up some info
You cannot look up internal financials unless it is a public company. You can go to the Secretary of State's website for that state though and lookup LLC filing information is all. If they were smart about their structure even that won't tell you much as the LLC could be a passthrough entity with a 3rd party registered agent and member managed by a private state holding company in say, Wyoming, Nevada, or Delaware.
If I’m not mistaken there are usually business search tools on .gov websites for the particular state the business is registered in. Some basic information should usually be available. Look up “Delaware LLC search” for example. Financials will be a bit trickier for non public companies (maybe crunchbase for investor details?)
