Are these comp levels accurate? I recently got an offer for 260k/yr as an L5 DS. Notionally, DS & SWE comp at amazon seem closer than at other orgs, such as Meta https://www.levels.fyi/companies/amazon/salaries/software-engineer #amazon
levels fyi is decently accurate if you filter by recent year(post band adjustment) although there is big gap between internal and external offer
There are some outliers on levels.fyi especially for Amazon - some people put both sign on AND rsus into annual comp, exaggerating the numbers. Some also put all 4 years worth of RSUs as annual figures, but i think these are pretty obvious. Other than these I think they are pretty accurate for the most part, for base at least
One thing i think worth noting is it seems levels.fyi averages out comp over 4yrs. I recently entered my comp and saw it posted as the average over 4yrs. Since amazon comp typically drops a little bit in years 3 and 4, take that into consideration when shooting for your year 1 TC
If I took the role, I’d be starting at L5 260k. I’ve heard the quickest anyone promoted to L6 is 18 months. Wonder what the jump in TC would look like 🤔
Unsure of difference between SWE and DS, but I’d imagine comp is somewhat similar. I recently got 350k for L5, so i think you can get more
What's your current TC? Amazon DS pay is little lower than an sde
260k ds amzn
250-310 was range I heard from a recruiter recently
