Please roast my resume. Is it faang worthy? Just trying to see what I could improve. I'm horrible at selling myself. Any feedback is appreciated! Specially during these times :( Also I never include my internship experience as actual experience, should I include it? TC 🥜
no
Could use a few more bullet points for each job and be more descriptive like “20% faster decreasing latency”
School was 5 years ago. Probably time to take it off. Internship experience is better than school, which is just following instructions. Hopefully your internships were more than that.
You don't have to take it off, but you don't need to mention the year you graduated. In many cases, school is more important than any internships you may have.
It says 10 years experience. But below specifies only 7 years
Since I'm trying to keep it a 1 pager I don't provide details of my internships and personal projects during college. Does that look bad?
internships do not count towards years of experience
Why are you leading people if you are SSE. I want to see tech and design ownership rather than people leadership.
Opinion: Ditch the large bullet points per job level, it’s calling for a toss to the trash Do: Go on LinkedIn and find a person who got into FAANG recently, use their resume as a template and just fill in
Ok thanks I'll remove them. Do I just filter by company to find someone who has their resume up? Not really sure how to find their resume. someone recently told me that I should add the titles to show my progression as I've been promoted 3 times in a short time frame
You throw resumes in the trash because they contain bullet points? What?
Looks similar to mine but scrap the pro overview
Don’t mention git, Jira, HTML and such in the skills section. Those “skills” are assumed by default and it’s a red flag if one has to mention those in a resume.
I only add them because the job posting mentions them. So I shouldn't? Not sure if they have automated filters that looks for those key words on the resume.
Don’t mention. It’s so bad. You have one page resume so you put only the most important info there. If Jira is the thing you need to put on a single page resume it looks like you are trying to inflate your skills/experience. And don’t write resume for automated filters. It’s just disrespectful to people. Bots are smart enough nowadays to parse your resume correctly anyway.
Nice stats around perf and CI CD. As an HM I would like to know more about what is the target domain and how many people access these pages. That will add value ot the perf improvements, otherwise perf stats are quite meaningless. Also if the perf improvements led to better business results.
Unfortunately, that info is not available because is an air gapped network... As a manager, is there any other information you recommend I add to make it stand out? Any help is greatly appreciated :)
Those stats sound made up
Why do you need a team of 6 to develop a one page app
A team of 1 could do this
I think they meant single page application, e.g client side rendered
