Isn’t Gemini demo realistic?

I think some of the things Google did is questionable. If prepared for 2-3 more months, I think it would have shown its capability without this “fake” title The controversy is that response was slower, it was snippets of pictures instead of video, and interactions were done via chat instead of audio But here is the thing Texts -> audio or audio -> texts: this is solved Video -> snippets of pictures: this is solved Faster response time -> understandable? Also people say about cot32 vs 5 shots but they could have just used GPT 4’s cot32 score which is still a lot lower than Gemini. Why create controversy on purpose?

It's just like the old mobile flame wars. Logic and reason go out the window and everyone just blindly rages that their side is better.

Show what you can do today, not where you see this technology headed and even if you do a demo of what will be possible with this tech months from now, put that in disclaimer

They released the disclaimer and the blog post explaining it, genius

Blind is full of tech nerds who have no clue about sales and marketing. It’s likely that the researchers/engineers would have put a disclaimer, but the marketing chose to omit it (It’s similar to - Mutual funds are subject to market risks, …. )

Raise the benchmark. Gpt5 whenever it releases may not be able to beat the cot32 benchmark, plus it beats the human expert level. So its a nice landmark
