I’ve been a bodybuilder for 12 years now, including competitively for the past 4. To me bodybuilding and programming have a lot more in common than one might think: in both cases you are methodically designing, architecting and building up an incredibly complex system. Only in the case of bodybuilding it’s arguably even more difficult since instead of just being able to write some code to add on to it, you need to build muscle by lifting weights. Bench/squat/deadlift: 455/575/650 Height: 6’1 Weight: 245lbs (competition), 270lbs (off season bulking) Body fat: 6% (competition), 13% (off season) #bodybuilding
Programming is a lot more lucrative, so people spend a lot more time on it
The feeling of having a perfectly proportioned, shredded, muscular physique is worth much more to me than any amount of “TC”.
Oh dear. Cringe.
I wish I’d be able to spend more time in the gym. And yeah, it is very similar. Both requires patience and consistency.
Yep, me too. Been doing it for a decade since I was in College
Bench or GTFO
Not bodybuilding, but powerlifting and Olympic lifting for me. It gives my mind peace every day for the hour I’m doing it.
LOVE Olympic lifting. I’ve been doing a few years and have gone completely down the rabbit hole.
How do you get into it ?
Enjoy

Natty or not?!
Yep. Last time I completed, though, was a couple years ago. I completed for several years for a while. I still train like a bodybuilder. I may do a show this spring /summer if I can commit to the diet again. It’s sort of fun to see veins pop out…
