Pretty happy with my offers so far, can see myself going to either. Help me pick? Klaviyo (Boston): + Tech Company/Unicorn + Probably more interesting and impactful work (can pick project/team) + 165k NG TC + Boston(no car needed, cooler city I think?) - Klaviyo employees on Blind shit on it in other posts - Not well known outside of e-commerce Capital One (Richmond VA): + Big company and brand name/big N pipeline + Well structured internship program + Easy project so can grind LC + Great WLB - ~110-140k NG TC by location - Bank, although best bank techwise All the interns I've talked to from both companies enjoyed it a lot. They all mentioned 90%+ return offer rates. The internship pay is about the same for both. I see a lot of interns returning to Klaviyo, while a lot of C1 feed into FAANG/other companies. My long term goal is a stable lucrative career leading to an early retirement(daring today aren't we), so I'm looking at both resume value and new grad TC. Since I'm graduating early by a year, I can always delay that for another internship over next summer, but that's also another year lost of potentially working in the industry and learning/earning.
Avoid C1. WLB/Culture is dead as of 2022. Not sure if it’s the same for interns though
Nah interns and tdps get treated well still.
That’s good to hear at least
C1 won't grow your skills. It'll just be a stepping stone. We have too much internally built tooling and process to actually learn anything.
Depends on team. Some teams just update configuration files all day every day but some teams do actual coding and interesting work
Sure some teams do interesting work, but the chances an intern is going to get that are slim. Also why put yourself into a crap shoot if you don't need too?
Klaviyo, avoid C1
Klaviyo internships are chill; they have fun. AFAIK
Klaviyo internships are solid. It’s a scrappy do it yourself environment, I think you’d benefit a lot if you’re looking to become a good engineer. Also, it’s a young crowd so if you come to the office you’d have a lot of fun. IMO it’s no contest on this one.
I’m leaning klaviyo as C1 has gone downhill since the pandemic, it’s alright here but not as good. Pn the other I had no idea this company existed so that makes the choice a bit harder
You’ll learn more at a unicorn tech wise. C1 tech is broken and the culture sucks now
Klaviyo - best choice

Seriously, why would anyone ever consider buying an EV that isn't a Tesla?
Klaviyo would be better but it’s less known. C1 is better in terms of recall value but it’s not a great company to work for either if you wanna work in tech Chose the better job role and the one which suits your area of interest
