Bloomberg SSE interview

I had my second technical phone interview with Bloomberg and it went well I believed. I solved the problem I was given and had a really good conversation with the interviewer in which he gave me signal I would pass this round. I just received an email saying I did not pass and have no idea what happened. Is this just the nature of the market right now ? #bloomberg #bloomberginterview Update: Essentially I wasn't fast enough. Even though I solved the questions, had great communication skills, asked clarifying questions and was able to code it up, compared to the other candidates, it just took a little too long basically. Also the recruiter said, I had a good solution and was able to come up with the most optimal but because we ran out of time and I wasn't able to code the most optimal solution, it affected the decision to move forward. Hope this helps you all! Good luck !

Did you follow up with the recruiter? I’ve interviewed with them in the past and all went very well in the tech interviews. However I’ve failed at the last round and the recruiter wasn’t that bothered to tell me anything. I just got an automated email to provide feedback and this is how I found out.

Yes, I did but haven't gotten a response. I assume I won't based on your experience. All I received was the automated email.

They don’t provide feedback, same experience.

Bbg sucks anyways. I used to work there. Toxic workplace. Very political.

Similar experience. It feels some low level eng there are intentionally making candidate fail with nitpicks. Their leaders do not understand why they couldn’t have technical positions filled. 😂

SSEs are hired directly into a team so the team can be more picky about fit and having prior exp with their tech stack. I passed SSE before tech layoffs so it could be the current market, too. I think coming up with optimal solutions and implementing them was a given. Super clear communication and good system design skills can be a differentiating factor.
