He risked his position, good name and freedom for just $500k? I probably have 1/10th his TC and wouldn't do it for $500k

In my last company, there was a female director who was infamous for accepting kickbacks . A sales guy told me about it over drinks at a conference party . I didn’t report it but tbh its only a matter of time she will get caught

I’ve worked in advertising for major agencies as well as media companies/publishers. It’s common, not so much receiving actual cash (I’ve never heard of it but I’m sure it happens) but expensive dinners, championship game tickets, renting party RVs for tailgates, taking clients jet skiing, renting cabanas and VIP suites at Coachella, etc. All of these places have rules set in employee guidelines for gifts you can give/accept but it’s never followed. The higher on the sales ladder you are and the more money you are bringing in the more “discretionary” client entertainment funds you have. At the end of the day they aren’t tracked per client or per gift but just a total cap as part of the department’s budget. One place in lieu of corporate cards let sellers use their own cards so they could get points. A director once bragged they never bought a plane ticket because they had so many points.
