Hey guys, I have an upcoming Jane Street SWE phone interview and would love interview preparation tips. Overall, I’m surprised by how little information is known about it. - Some people claim knowledge of functional programming is helpful (in particular OCaml) vs not. - Some people claim concurrency and OS trivia questions are common vs others claim it’s leetcode-styled Any tips would be highly appreciated! How did you even get an interview with them? I couldn't even get the recruiters attention
Got an interview. They asked me about my CV. Then they asked a question LC style question. I solved it but with a small bug. I think that bug cost me the whole interview. Interviewer didn't understand cpp at all. Welp, I don't want to do ocaml every day anyway and they sound too snobby for my taste. Interviewer caught on that too I guess. It was just practice for me but if you are serious for it show some interest for functional programming and be extra extra careful when you code.
Charizard, how is the swe interview process at Bloomberg for 4yoe? Also, is cpp required or is Java accepted? Thank you
Wrong thread but ok, no cpp required. Kids these days always use python. Apart from that it’s usually 3 lc mediums
How is the overall process and how to prepare?
My phone screen was purely algo/ds and there was no advantage if I had know functional programming vs not
