Job Market for US Citizens (Getting Interviews)

What’s it like for ex FAANG or top startup engineers with 4-5 YOE right now? Interested in jumping ship within the next 6 months but am curious how hard it is right now to even get an interview right now? I am actively looking for in person jobs. TC 315K

Getting interviews is the hard part nowadays. Use your connections if possible

I promise you that passing the interviews is just as difficult if not harder. Unless you absolutely ace everything you’re not getting the job.

I’m getting regular recruiter pings. Like my job so not moving, but it doesn’t seem too bad

Recruiters are ghosting at a much higher rate these days.

Although I would like to thank you for your suggestion. I think I was needlessly combative here. Apologies, @microsoft

It’s getting better i would say? Have gotten ~10 chances to do interviews from pretty good companies (apple, TikTok, meta, cruise, Pinterest, databricks, zoox, rippling, etc.) since June. Only one of them was the result of a referral. Have also been reached out to by Amazon, HFT firms, and some startups as well. 5yoe

This is great to hear. We have the same YOE. I’m not worried about passing the hiring bar. But def worried about getting the opportunity to do so. Thanks for your insight(:
