I interviewed for a role at AMD, all along the way I was told its a remote role, until the offer came and then I was told they changed policies and will require moving to Austin. I a bit bumped. Role is good, but the ethics don’t sit well with me. Comment? Can’t decide Current TC: $154k Base: 120k YOE: 7yrs AMD Base: 145k Bonus: targetted 15% RSU: Losses from current employer+what they will offer Location: changed from remote to Austin Latest update: Position went on hold. 😒 Not meant to be I guess
TC or GTFO ethics here
No TC provided for new role yet.
I wouldn't take up the offer because they're doing an about turn but I would also need to assess first what other remote-first options are available and my realistic chances of clearing those interviews. Think also about how a relocation will upend your life outside of work, no matter how good the profile is.
Where's TC? FFS!
Not provided one yet
How about current TC?

Looks like mts since bonus is 15%
Yes. It is.
since they changed from remote to Austin, y you should negotiate using the same reason and get new numbers that will make you feel okay about the move. Make sure to ask for relocation amount as well. Also, please share your YOE and RSU if you want a good feedback on the offer.
I see you have already provided YOE. Ask for higher base
Base - at least 160K RSU - at least 180K + S/O - 60K
Low Base for MTS at Austin for 7yrs
looks like an offer from product engineering due to the low base
Architect role
I would not work there if they pull a fast one on you in the interview what about raises and promotions later on they are likely going to keep lying not worth it even for a pay raise
Yes. It went from SMTS to MTS. Later - oh we need you in person vs remote. The role can be done remotely.
Lmfao yeah easy to tell them you are not available thanks for the consideration have a nice day
Add TC to the post first.
They haven’t given me TC yet. Want me to decide if I want to move.
