I really like the job security I have at MS. If I moved to FB how is the job security there? 15 yoe, Senior PM (female if that matters).
No job security. Read the story of a guy who committed suicide

What does job security mean to you? Protection from layoff in an economic downturn? Feels worse than Microsoft. Protection from being fired quickly if performance is bad? Definitely worse than Microsoft. Protection from different ideas/politics? No idea, maybe a wash.
You guys have already had massive layoffs when the economy was good. You don't have enough profit to support that massive workforce if shit hits the fan: https://www.seattletimes.com/business/microsoft/microsoft-starts-layoffs-with-reportedly-thousands-of-job-cuts/
Facebook didn’t lay off a single person during the recession while Microsoft did in the order of thousands.
Are you good? Plenty of job security then.
Would never expect job security from FB. Or Amazon. Wanna refer me to MS? 😁
Hasn't Microsoft been doing monthly layoffs?
If that's true then I guess it's no worse than FB/Amazon bi-annual PIP waves
FB doesn't pip as much as Amazon. You can check the attrition stats on linkedin. No mandatory 10% cuts assigned to managers at FB.
FB doesn’t have to lay-off. The system is in place to push people out automatically when there’s no work. If you are confident that you can generate impactful work then no need to worry about job
Have you scrolled through Blind? There’s PIPs from FB all the time. You’re going to have to compete.
Not quite all the time. Attrition rates are also about the same as Google. If you actively learn, you will be fine.
FB is actively managing out low performers. That's it. You just read their cries in Blind. If you are above the average. You're good. Company won't do any lay off in the near future. We still have a margin of 40%.

Security? What’s that? 😂
