Job with Elixir in the tech stack

I received a job offer with a TC of 360k (might go higher based on the direction of the stock price). I am really excited about this role and will join. But the tech stack for that role has Elixir along with other more in-demand languages. What do you all think for future marketability in the job market after having worked with Elixir for a few years? Hesitant to reveal the name of the company.

There's a handful of decent companies using elixir including avvo, payscale, and pagerduty. It's a solid language for certain use cases, which include high concurrency apps. I think you'll be fine. Don't think anyone cares much about the specific programming language, but rather your problem solving abilities. Elixir has a few differences like immutable objects, it's functional, and Gen servers. But ultimately, it's solving the same problem.

Thank you for the response. I asked this question as I had some trouble with companies using Java as they were reluctant to even interview me as I didn't have much Java experience. Thanks for the answer, it is encouraging!

Sure. I would probably still keep Java listed on your resume though (and keep current with the basics of the language) just to ensure you get past the resume matching/screening stage.
