Context: I’ve signed the Google offer. I chose Google for 2 reasons - for the salary increase and because it’s Google. However, my current company recently increased my salary by a significant amount. I also currently live in LCL but will need to move to HCL area for Google. Is it reasonable/advisable to reject Google at this point? If I join Google, it’ll only be because it’s Google. Some facts: - I love my current job - I have absolutely no reason to leave it, other than the Google offer - I don’t mind Google rto I just need some advice to know whether Google still makes sense at this point. Is it bad to burn the Google bridge? Can I defer my Google offer to a later date? Current job new TC: $180k (LCL) Google offered TC: $245k (HCL)
You can re-apply in 1 year.
Follow the money
The trail gets cold after a few days
Stay where you are..if you enjoy the work and city. Considering salary adjustment....it seems similar in salary ..
I could probably save more money if I stay, tbh. But what worries me is being blacklisted by Google if in the future I decide I wanted to work there…
Step one of big tech. It’s block list and allow list now days.
If Google offer me $1 a year and a position, I will gladly leave my job and join
Join pls. You will love google
Thanks for your input! Hopefully I won’t have any regrets 🥲 I love my current company so Google would have some big shoes to fill
Having Google on your resume will change your life. Hands down.
