Poll - Between joining a Series A or Series D startup, which would you choose and why? TC: 270k YOE: 10 #tech #startups
A VC told me if I must join a startup, make sure that it’s Series C or above. Otherwise, you’re taking as much risk as the founders. The higher the series the startup has raised, the less risky it is.
Solid advice
Seed, series a, and series b all have very different odds of not failing from what I’ve read.
What are you solving for?
If you are coming from Accenture then Series D will be a good introduction to startups before you go earlier stage.
We have zero context on the startups or your offers, how are we supposed to choose something and tell you why? Is this a Figma or Stripe like company with an amazing trajectory at series a? Is it some crappy startup in a terrible space at series d? Need more info
What are the offers?
Series D (B2B) is valued at over $1B and very strong. Series A (B2C) has over 150M in funding and led by an established founder who sold his last company. Both solve a need in the market and have a very large market opportunity. Trying to determine what I should consider (outside the obvious) in general before making a decision, and which experience would be more valuable. Both are product roles.
Which team did you like more personally
This is how I think: B2B sales will always outrun B2C. Even if it was a B2B at Series A, I’d have chosen that. That’s just me. Go with your gut and choose career growth. Are you going in at the same role/level at both places?
How about joining a pistachio farm?
