Joining Google DeepMind in the US?

Is it worth joining DeepMind in the US as most leaderships are in London? What’s my career trajectory to L6 and beyond? Background: L5 in a high-growth non-AI GCP team, <5 YOE, no PhD (can’t share more to prevent doxxing myself) Current TC: 410k

How do you get in if you don’t have a PhD and no AI experience

GDM has infra teams as well, it could be one of those roles

Experience will be similar to working in a satellite office, GDM critical mass is in London so there will be many decisions which will be taken there, so just be prepared for that. GDM is by far the most happening and high visibility group at the moment. Even with the satellite office downside, you'll get a lot of good opportunities. GDM controls everything in the company at the moment. If I were you, I'd take the opportunity.

Depends on the team in GDM, but there's plenty of leadership in the US seeing that 1) GDM contains all of what used to be Google brain 2) GDM is responsible for Gemini the product (not to be confused with Gemini the model)
