Joining companies on h1 transfer receipt

I want to know what people are doing if they have an offer at a company and their h1 transfer is in process. Current timelines without premium processing are 12 months at California center. Would the teams be willing to wait that long? What is the best bet here?

If you think the company you are moving to will refile Incase of a denial (most companies will) or if you can get a job within 2 months, I would say go for it. Unless you are moving to a consulting firm, the denial rate for a company is around 10%. So it’s a decent bet. It all comes down to your risk tolerance and how badly you want to move

Okay.. So there is an option to refile in case an h1 transfer is denied.. Good to know.. Well i just feel it is bad for us that the premium processing is not active. Should people just not switch?

Microsoft applied for H1 transfer in late November last year. Premium processing wasn't an option that time. told recruiter that I would be more comfortable joining after the transfer is approved. He came back and said that HM is not willing to wait that long. So, joined on the receipt. Considering it was Microsoft, the risk was low and I got transfer approved end of February. Premium processing is available now afaik..

One of my friends moved to Amazon even before the receipt. When Amazon knew the cheque is cashed they asked my friend to join. He got the receipt number after joining and he is still waiting for approval.
