A recruiter reached out on LinkedIn with an IC role that I normally wouldn't consider (looking more for manager of managers roles) but included the intriguing tagline of something along the lines of "we can pay whatever you want". Recruiter didn't mention the name, but Googling some specific language in the job description points to Jump Trading. Levels and Blind search don't seem to show a TC that's "whatever I want". Any idea what an experienced IC (15+ years) could expect there?
I know people who work there and you really can’t put a number. Most people that I know got hired are senior level and they were around 500-700k. I don’t think their initial offer offer would be higher than what you make in the M ladder, probably recruiter has no idea. While it’s true that they can match whatever number they want if they need you, since you’re M already I’m not sure they’ll have much use for you there to justify the high price they’ll pay you bring you onboard, when they can get someone cheaper with more relevant experience
They can pay you 1m or more if they think you are of value
Thanks for the info, everyone. The role is more of a full stack one with tech and requirements that match my IC experience pretty well. I'd definitely need a pretty good bump to want to make that move, though.
I’ve heard 800k is possible even with fewer YoE.
Really?
Yup 6-7 YoE can get that at Jump
heard 10 yoe from microsoft getting 1m+
Did you actually hear of that or are you just going off that other blind post lol
coworker's close friend. i believe it
Off topic but did you have finance experience or background OP?
