Hi, I am currently interviewing for a SWE role at Jump trading. So far I’ve had completed the online codility test and 3 rounds of live coding interviews. I now have 3-4 more hours of “behavioral/technical” interviews setup. Anyone who has gone through this second round of on-sites, could you share what the experience was like and what I could expect? They did mention it “likely” wasn’t going to be more coding. YOE: 5
Seems like you haven't done any system design yet? Maybe it's that?
Someone else can confirm but C++ in-depth and operating systems computer architecture. And concurrency probably
I had a similar experience after my technical onsites. All of mine were behavioral discussions with prospective managers. The interview content was mostly about me as a person, what I was looking for, what skills I thought I could bring to the team, and a few specific questions related to the teams themselves. For example, some latency sensitive c++ teams asked me questions about low level c++. Other teams asked me about my scripting experience and asked me to walk them through something I was proud of at my previous job. No coding. Hope it works out for you, Jump is an awesome place to be!
Hey, could I ask you your YOE? Wondering how much Jump hires at 2/3+ YOE for external as most people I know there are either interns or new grad.
Between 2 and 5, ex FAANG. Jumps salaries aren’t really fixed, it’s really about what you’re worth to them. If they really want you they’ll beat any of your competing offers.
It could still he coding. Go prepared. I was caught off guard when even second rounds were deep technical.
Were these interviews all coding questions or did they ask other things?
How did your coding rounds go? All leetcode hards?
Not really. Two of the questions were leetcode medium-ish. But not exactly leetcode questions. The rest were not on leetcode but I would categorize them as high medium. They do go very deep into optimization all the way to optimizing for the underlying architecture
