Surprised with HRBP on 1:1 call with manager, was told that for the past several months I haven't been performing and I was being let go from Facebook with severance. Decision was final and apparently there's nothing I can do to fight it. Only have had one performance review and received a MM. I am a new grad who joined as a Data Scientist out of college. Been at Facebook for 1 year. Any advice? Edit: MM = "Meets Most of the high expectations for the role but there are still gaps that prevent a Meets All" Edit 2: Im moving to Google!

Crossed a line with my boss
Well that sucks, but at least you got severance.. Start asking for referrals and applying
How have you responded / course corrected with the feedback from MM? Sounds like a miss on the part of the manager if you were surprised even a little.
Yeah I thought I did but seems like she didn't feel the same way
worse than Amazon.
You can remove the “seems”
Removed.
Did you have a 1:1 with your manager weekly?
Yup
Never did she say my job was in jeopardy
No pip? Sounds shady but I don’t know what you can do about it.
Nope, no pip
I thought they always put people on pip and give them one last chance to improve before laying off. Directly firing is unheard of. Even Amazon puts you on pip before firing.
Take the money and run.
I'm interested in Microsoft if you have openings
Ofc time to slack off at the next place
Dm for referral
