- How’s the culture at BetterCloud? - Anyone have insight to WLB, typical recruiting process, pay scale, etc? - Would Customer Success or Product Management be a better option here, team wise? Haven’t found much on here, so looking for anyone to chime in. Thanks!
I turned down a Customer Success Executive role back in January but had a great interview experience. Culture seemed pretty good and people were genuinely happy to be working there. In the end, I got a better comp offer and overall benefits package at MS.
That’s what I’m worried about, I’ve heard low comp and weak benefits. I’m also waiting for MS and another result after final rounds.
Yeah MS shits on BC for both comp and bennies. Plus I would have had to work a lot more in hopes of an IPO paying off one day but the stocks offered wasn’t even that attractive.
For anyone interviewing with BetterCloud in 2023, here's some info: They are remote-first but have a headquarters in NYC. They pay the same rate for developers independent of location. For senior software engineer, the salary range is $148,500 - $165,000 Even at the highest, this is not even remotely competitive in NYC, SF, Seattle, LA, etc. The pay is not HCOL friendly. The equity (stock options) is valued at $100k to $150k over four years.
Do you know the salary range for entry level software engineer?
waste of time, avoid
I am currently working and about to leave BC but I can give a bit of insights about it. The culture is fine, they stress high performance but there is a bit of a gap between what they say vs what is actually going on. WLB is fine like any company when it gets to deadline time everyone starts to put extra work but because the company is going through a lot churn and the product has so many holes in development you will get gaps of slow down. Recruiting process is simple, just couple or interviews and offer Pay is not great when I started but because the market is hot you can probably get a good deal I would go with product management over customer Success. Because the company has so many gaps and issues with the development the dealing with customers because difficult and stressful. PMs have a bit more flexibility to do more for the product.
Any experience with the marketing department?
I think the marketing department is one of the best teams, they are always on their game with events and promoting the newest feature. I am unsure what it’s like now because of all the churn and adjustments in the product. Might be a slow down for them as well but anytime I have meet with them they have been great.
