PM is irrelevant role and will die in next 2-3 years.
Goldman sachs will layoff 3200 employees this week. Do people in engineering/SDE’s need to worry? #layoff #goldmansachs
Isn’t this standard operating procedure for GS? (Assuming it’s true)
Normally 5%/year, paused 2 years so it’s 7%. Not that big of news.
Expecting 10-15% actually
Where did you see that? The layoffs are only 8%
Goldman "Sacks"
Golden Sacks
Is GBM and Consumer — GBM has SWEs assigned to each desk and automation teams. We don’t know yet and that sucks
what can I say... there was a Goldman person here, when I said, Windows 7 had issue searching for some Chinese characters in the folder when the file is right there showing the filename with those characters and I typed in to search for any file with filenames that contain the characters, the Goldman person's reply was like, "oh no, you need a special keyboard to type in those characters. Those are unsolved problems in computer science." It was like saying Google cannot search using a Chinese character because "oh no! you need special keyboard for that and it is an unsolved problem." If I see such a programmer any where, I will fire him right there. The same with a FinTech company starting with M in the East Coast. I can answer those interview questions better than the interviewers, but they were all pretty boys and I guess they either hired another pretty boy or pretty girl. They really are more suited for a Target weekly ad photo.
Heard entire institutional sales floor was laid off.. is this true? Partner held a meeting and said “the music was about to stop”
