I am buying a house and I’m looking to get a mortgage loan. Should I go with a credit union or a bank and why. If you bought a house in the past and with a mortgage from a credit union, what was your experience like? #mortgage#housing

It doesn’t matter too much, but these days credit unions are typically giving better rates.

Just go with a local credit union. Then get a couple bids from big mortgage lenders like Sofi, Better.com, Strong Home Mortgage, NBKC, etc. Use the best bid to negotiate down the local credit union.

Use a mortgage banker or mortgage broker - likely better service and pricing …. If you have a relationship with a bank or credit union ask them for any affinity deals that they may have
