I have a Karat interview for Wayfair coming up. Has anyone taken the karat test for Wayfair recently? Any help on what kind of questions to expect would be great. Yoe : 6 Tc: 90k
Second that karat is awful
Care to explain why? I guess I got lucky cause I had a good experience
The problem is that the experience entirely depends on your interviewer. The system design was easy and the first algo question wasnโt bad, came up with the right answer but then spent the entire thirty minutes trying to figure out why it wouldnโt run while the interviewer sat there silently and refused to answer any questions. Turns out it was literally just a syntax error in reading the input. Interviewer said he didnโt care what format the output was in but when I finally fixed and got it to run, with the values in the output (I used a dict as my final answer, which seemed to make sense given the problem) exactly matched the values in the expected answer, he told me that the format โwasnโt what they were looking forโ and then cut me off and ended the interviewer ten minutes early without letting me look at the second problem
Took it this week
How did it go? Any pointers to prep
It was okay.. experience can vary largely depending on interviewer..still waiting for result Very similar to https://leetcode.com/discuss/interview-question/1257969/wayfair-karat-interview-20-mins-scenario-based-system-design
Karat is awful, but to answer your question theyll ask a LC medium question, they'll ask you general knowledge questions like dB, cloud scalability etc. In case your recruiter didn't mention this if you don't pass you can request to take it again
I think you get 24 hrs to reschedule if you feel it wasn't good
How much time do they take to announce the result??
Did my redo yesterday, did not enjoy. Interviewers robotic; they will say "anything else you might think of?" for every system design question because they are following the script and not even looking at the camera. Also not sure how they expect you to get through 2 LC mediums in 30 mins total! I wrote plenty of code but couldn't finish. System design questions were not hard for me with 15YOE; I haven't heard back yet. This is for an architect role, so hopefully they are not expecting leet coding speed.
I did Karat interview for Wayfair recently and had a good experience. Interviewer was respectful and attentive. The interview itself was a mix of easy situation-based system design questions plus one easy-medium coding question. I was invited to the next round.
Do you think Wayfair LC tagged questions would suffice? And could you share examples of SD questions?
+1 on the Wayfair tagged Qโs question
Karat has tagged questions on lc as well. It would be good to do those too.
Karat is one of the worst interviewing experiences I have ever had
How were the questions difficulty wise. Did they ask you system design questions
What made it bad? I had mine a week ago and it was good, but I studied my ass off.
