I have seen some people specifically white male's such smooth talkers, who constantly maintain great relationships with the higher-ups and smoothly go up the tracjectory, while the people below them are doing the real grunt work. when there comes the time to be in the limelight or to present the product - its obviously them! with no saltiness towards them, what can I do (as an Asian male) to maintain that kind of great relationship with the higher-ups, talk smoothly, and still rise? This. I used to work with a manager who was a black woman and she always communicated candidly and clearly. When she talked, everyone paid attention. She told me that she learned through Toastmasters and that allowed her to escalate positions and improve the relationships she had with leaders, customers and suppliers. She was well respected and a great mentor of mine :)
Go to a place where the higher ups are Asian. Look at Google. Now all the bosses are Indian. Use nepotism instead of fighting it.
Yes but none of these leaders are inspiring. Like even a random sales person at the company will be more interesting to listen to than any Indian leader at google
Find a great leader that wants people to grab anchor with and drag them vertical. As a leader one of my baseline reqs for any new hire is simple: You simply need to know more on the topic Im hiring you for than I do, proprietary aside. I dont want to be the smartest person on the team, I need to be the most flexible. My job as a leader, and sole responsibility, is to invest in, and reinforce you as my star players. When you excel, I will naturally, and the pressure from our shared successes will rise our tides, irrespective of other teams. What you need is a leader that needs you to win.

Just treat everyone with respect and dignity. Most Asians may be smart but their ego gets in their way. Show respect and you will be perceived as someone who is easy tow work with and this is what leadership is about.

Watch lots of tv shows and movies. You will improve your social game. I really like Simply Said book. It’s not exactly what you are looking for but I feel it has great practical advice on communication
