Even after you are laid off from the company, it seems like the company isn't done with you. People like these are what makes Amazon so toxic ... Tldr - someone posted on blind saying he's hiring asap. I responded. Check screenshot of my fellow Earth's best employee. #severance #layoff #swe #engineering #software #hardware #machinelearningengineer #faang #amazon #meta #google #twitter #snap Tc - do I need to explicitly say it ?
Heās a troll
Heās right though
A lot of the toxic / shitposter types on Blind are in Amazon. I know a lot of great people in Amazon, ex coworkers etc. But the ugly, angry types seem to be the ones posting here.
Can confirm as a toxic amazonian shitposter
Lot of bitterness and envy on blind
Ehh lot of trolls. My experience has been itās been more about seniority. Senior positions and up are fine, may not work for a FAANG given they are all laying off, but will be fines. Juniors thoā¦.
TBF unemployed citizens should be considered before those on visas. For one the H1 program is to supplement in areas where we donāt have the domestic talent to fill technical roles. Right now there is an over abundance of technical talent vs open roles so by the letter of the law and purpose we should absolutely find roles for citizens first. Iām empathetic to their situation to find a role in 60 Days, but if they canāt itās time to go home until a time comes where the need is great again.
+1, as an Indian I agree that country's citizen should be prioritised infact all visa programs should be banned.
Youāre missing the fact that a lot of them would not be on a visa if the immigration backlog would exist. You know about the 60 days but do you also know they may have been legally in the country for decades and have built a home here? Their kids who were born and raised and is the only country they know? If you want to use words like āTBFā first voice your opinion to fix the broken immigration system which is anything but fair and discriminates a person based on their country of birth.
Remember, Amazon is also ... gigantic. So just by the sheer numbers you are going to see more posters of every type. But also anonymous platforms tend to bring out the negativity, so I suppose it's not a surprise.
There are some toxic people on Blind, and some of those happen to work at Amazon. That should be your inference.
