I just collect my L1 visa. The stamp has only one year validity but my I-129S form has 3 years validity. Is this normal? Do I suppose to exchange the visa stamp to kind of residence card once I arrive US? Thx
This is the length of the L1 validity and no, there's no exchange to another validity once in the country. I have seen this happen to Mexican colleagues. If the validity is one year you'll have to get the visa restamped every year
You should have it for 3 years. Did you say that in the interview?

I’ve checked. Actually the L1 I-94 is 3 years but for some nationality, the consulate only give 1 year visa stamp so if i need to go out of US, i will need it to be restamped. Not sure abt staying longer than expiry date though (as for F1 visa, it is ok to overstay provided if you keeps student status)
Are you from India ??
Should be okay. All that matters once you're in is the i-94. I'm on L1 with 1 year visa stamp that had expired as well. Been too lazy to renew it
Do u have to renew it after it expires. Or u can wait until u need to travel out of US and then renew the stamp once u need to enter?
Get in touch with the lawyer. Look at your i94s. This is what actually defines your authorized stay lengtj
